Schulich Master of Finance VS Western Master of Financial Economics
Hi, I am deciding between two programs below, and I listed some basic info about them, could you give me some more advice? Thanks! (These are Canadian schools and I planned to work in Canada)
Schulich Master of Finance
-
Good Location, Toronto city
-
Good reputation
-
Covering a lot of CFA content so more conveniently passing CFA with this program
-
Only 12 months, so less work permit time (I am international student)
**Western Master of Financial Economics **
-
16 months program with a summer internship opportunity (biggest pro in my opinion because many people tell me internship opportunity means larger chance of getting full-time)
-
This MFE program doesn't belong to Western Ivey school, it is a collaborative program among departments of Economics, Ivey, Statistics and the law, so I am not sure the reputation is better than Schulich's
-
Location is not as good as that of Schulich
My Goal: Getting a job after graduation.
Some people tell me better location means more opportunity, but other tell me internship opportunity is safer because you already get your foot in the door. I am having a hard time deciding which one to go, need some experts to help me out :D
Thanks in advance!
Sorry to tell you but that Schulich program sucks. They had less than 50% 2015 grads employed 1 year out
