If this subject has already been discussed then could someone please point it out, I couldn't find it anywhere.
I'm curious about Blackstone CEO Steve Schwarzman's relocation to Paris a few months ago, and came across this article , which offers a few possible motives, from the need to focus on international expansion to apparent disapproval of Obama's tax policies.
I'm also wondering why Paris and not London? Is the world really moving east (not that Paris is exactly a gateway to the Orient)? Is this a sign of things to come for the PE industry and will others follow suit or is Blackstone an exception?
