Second thoughts on job location?
I am supposed to join a bank this summer as an associate, but this pandemic has given me a lot of time to think about where I want to live and how important family is. Is anything else having these thoughts? Wondering if it’s worth looking for another Bank this late in the game or if I should do a year and lateral.
Meaning moving out of a large city or into one?
Both cities are about the same size. Just wanting to be closer to family.
You may as well stick it out for a year, at least. Who knows what the WFH situation will be like for the next year, and then even after that, are we all going to be in the office all the time? probably not.
It will be interesting to see how the job changes. Some people I have talked with are like you and think it will change, while others think it's going right back to what it was pre-covid.
Yeah, it's all speculation at this point. My view is that with democrats in control, there will be no liability protection for corporations, so I don't see banks rushing into to fill offices right away.
x2 on this...purely speculation but in my mind is it more likely than not that we will see WFH continue for considerably longer than thought even a few months ago.
