Seeking Advice on Career Path in South Korea
Hi Everyone,
I am seeking career advice, and just to be upfront- I am naive in the Korean job market. I lived in the States for approx. 10 years, and I can work in both Korean and English. I am a Korean citizen and worked on a work Visa (H1B) while in the States.
I majored in Accounting at a Big 10. My primary work experiences include a Big 4 audit experience in the States for approx. 1 year and a Big 4 M&A experience in Korea (primarily in financial due diligence) for approx. 1 year.
I am unsure as to whether I want to keep pursuing a career at a professional services firm, especially in Accounting, but I am open to working in Finance or Consulting. I am also open to working in an industry as opposed to a professional services firm, and I'd be interested in strategy or operations.
Work hours don't bother me that much, and I am open to working 80+ hour weeks as long as I am learning and benefiting from the hours worked.
Long term, I am unsure as to where I see myself - I realize I don't have a solid goal to achieve, but I just want to enjoy the work I do, continue learning, and build my network.
Please share what kind of career paths you've seen or recommend that can build on my previous experiences.
Thank you!
