Seeking IBD advice

I have recently joined WSO to seek some objective advice from anybody on here.

Here is a bit of context to my story thus far:

I'm Canadian. Grew up in Europe playing tennis for a German club (think MLS kind of club) and entry-level professional tournaments during high school. Once I graduated HS, played pro for a full year then moved home. I was given two options once home; 1) help with sales at a software company or 2) go back to school at 19. Honestly, I had no idea where I wanted to go or what I wanted to do. I was bummed I didn't make it as a pro tennis player.

I thought that school would always be there, so, I got involved with this software business where we secured funding on Dragons Den a few years back (think Shark Tank for my US friends) and I got an opportunity to participate on an equity buy-in right before we got funding.

This was all well and good and as a junior partner, I approached our CEO to suggest an IPO or PE raise to help the company grow into the US/Europe/Australia. This idea was shot down for various conflicts within our partner structure and I was the only one who was really trying to push international growth.

As I realized the company was going in a direction I was not, I am now in second-year university and would really like to work in IBD raising capital for companies looking to go public given my anecdotal experience.

Some things I am curious about:

1) I will be 27 when I graduate. Is this too late in the game to start as an analyst? How will this come off to MD's or senior associates if I am older working for younger people? My thoughts on this are to simply convey that they have more experience than I do and that I am there to learn from others with more experience

2) Should I go do an MBA right after undergrad due to my previous work experience with a $2M+ revenue software company (3.5-4 years)

3) Any additional context and/or thoughts help in regards to breaking into banking.

Looking forward to contributing to these threads moving forward!
