Select Western University in Canada or London School of Economics

Hi,

Im a 17-year old currently thinking about where to go for University. I'm pretty late, but still have a chance to choose. I've been accepted into the following:

London School of Economics - BSc Accounting and Finance
Western University - Dual Degree in Computer Science and Richard Ivey School of Business BBA

My goal is to break into front office investment banking, preferably in New York. For the school I attend, I want to build a good network in Finance, while also having a good University experience. From what I've heard, Western is huge on sending kids to the US for IB, and it is only getting better. LSE is definitely better in terms of reputation, but it is also quite a lot more competitive, and with Brexit, the banking situation is unsure.

I'm looking for advice on where to go. Please help me make a decision!

LSE can't be as helpful to NYC banking and Ivey is sort of small compared to ivy league level US Schools (Yes, yes, big in Canada target schools)

I cannot speak to Warwick or LSE, although I would say they are both quite well respected. In terms of Ivey, their HBA program is definitely top tier in Canada and arguably the best undergraduate degree for business along with Queens. If your goal is IB in NYC, I would suggest going to Ivey, I have many friends from the program and a lot of them have made it to NYC at firms such as Goldman, CS, and other EB like Evercore. Obviously those positions are competitive but definitely attainable with hard work. The only thing I would warn to keep into consideration is that Ivey's program is deferred entry so you will have to maintain your grades and competitive profile through the first 2 years of your undergraduate degree. Hope that helps.
