Selecting a different ethnicity and gender on application

I hear that B-schools are looking for a more diverse student pool these days.

What would be the implications of selecting that I am a Black female on my application be if I was say, a White male? My thoughts are that it is just a box ticking exercise after all. I'm sure no one would call me out on it at interview stage either.

Would this help me get an interview at an m7?

Theoretically you can tick any of the boxes and if they call you out on it you should just say that you identify (make sure to use this exact word) as a black female. Quickly follow up on that by saying that you were not offered the choice of "gender-neutral asexual Martian-American" (which would have been your preferred choice) and therefore you intend to sue the B-school for discrimination. Pretty sure they will give you an offer on the spot.

Umm, I think your strategy would be considered fraud. Unless this is a joke -- of debatable funniness. I know, I sound like a buzzkill, but to some, it's not always clear what's a joke and what is not, e.g.: http://www.wallstreetoasis.com/forums/hbs-to-ban-management-consultants…
