Selling your research?
I am contemplating starting my own research group that sells independent equity research. There are many "news" sites like Fool that publish articles on research, but they are not very indepth.
Not sure about the business model yet, whether it be being membership based or selling reports individually, but my main question is what the regulations are on this matter. From my understanding, independent research is not regulated compared to buy side or sell side. Are there any regulatory issues regarding starting an independent research company that sells research? Im guessing the main rule is not to have any positions in the research that is being sold?

Good luck - you will need to establish years of a track record before you'll see consistent interest from investors.
