Senior looking for FT - anything else I can try?

Hello

I am currently a senior at a target/semi-target. I completed a rotational S&T stint at a BB this summer in nyc. Things were going well till the last week of the program where I found out none of my desks were hiring full time analysts (1 of them was originally going to but owing to how the markets got pwnt they decided not to).

There was practically no ocr apart from a few firms, and even that has been over. I managed to get a few superdays but unfortunately was not able to convert them into offers (I guess not having an offer really does matter - even if not getting one was out of my hands) and am still w/o an offer.

Ive been cold emailing funds and reaching out to ppl on linkedin and I am just wondering if there is anything else I can try?( I am open to other markets based roles as well).

Also alot of the ppl I tlak to say things will get better in January and the hiring freezes that firms have right now will be lifted. you think there is any truth in that given the situation in the EU stabilizes (doesnt look like it now but lets assume it does by jan).

Thanks

Number one advice...don't give up. Like you said, many banks are experiencing hiring freezes or may have only hired a few analysts and come Jan-March might find that they want hire more. I would get on your alumni database and start cold e-mailing and cold calling for informational interviews and then once you have them on the phone after the info interview, ask about any openings or people they can connect you to. Your number one goal now should be to cast your net as wide as possible. Talk to friends, friends or friends, really anyone who has a remote connection to you and talk to them. You have to stay on top of it and continue to follow up with people. Your number one job is to network.

Another really unused tool is Linkedin. Change the search to "company" and start punching in bank names (I would focus on smaller MM and boutiques at this point) and see who in your network knows someone...and then reach out to them.
