Shift from law to IB in India
Currently a 5th (Final) year student at a top Law University (pursuing LLB) in India writing CFA L1 (Dec) this year, have previously interned with Deutsche (as an analyst intern in DCM, but mostly did Legal work like drafting agreements). The internship didn't translate into a job because headcount issues but ever since I have been trying to get another internship/analyst positions in other banks (both backend and front-end), but no success. Anybody else who has made this shift, specifically in India? At this point, even landing an interview with an IB seems next to impossible. And I have been told that it is easier to land a job from an internship programme so I should try making the shift before I start working in an Indian BigLaw firm (Tier I firm) next June. Any suggestions/thoughts?
