if you are a girl you should be fine. I was talking to an associate last week and he told me that 5-5 is the cut-off for girls and 5-8 is the cut-off or guys.
It amazes me that posts like this get to stay in the ibanking forum and questions that are about getting a job IN ibanking get moved to the other, less read forums... something is wrong there.
Height doesn't matter if you have a bsd. Then again, height might hold you back from becoming a bsd, but it is possible. Odds are stacked against you though because psychologically height = respect.
sucess in banking, like most things, requires confidence - cleary your post indicates you are lacking in this department, your insecurities not your hight will limit your career.
I assume you're talking about the size of your tool. And no. You can't get in with 5 inches. 8 is preferred. 7 is pushing it.
Either you sling crack rock or you got a wicked jump shot
So are you saying I should put my measurements on my resume? And do they just look at length, or gurth as well? This might help me get beyond that damn non-target school status! This is great news!
WOW...I will answer this just because there is a great story involved.
There was an MD at ML who was about 5'5'' and in college as a joke his frat brothers stole a sign from some amusement park that said, "You must be this tall to ride". I guess this really bothered him, he was insecure about his height when he was younger. He became an MD at about 34-35 and had a few of those signs recreated and it said "You must be this short to make over $20 million before anyone of your frat buddies makes $1 million" It was a little corny but all of the guys, his friends, loved it and so did we. Mostly because he told that story at training showing that it is nothing about your appearance because when you are making it rain fuck everything else.

Check the height of Steve Cohen(SAC Capital) it's about the bottom line and what you contribute to it.

Short answer - no.
Rainmaker in our M&A group can't be more than 5'5", so it's possible.

Steve Schwarzman is only 5'6".
Then yes, it probably is/will be a problem, because you're aware of it and it bothers you.
This may be one of the dumbest posts I've ever seen on this site. Above post hits the nail on the head though.

Lets get real. Probably not.
I think there are actually more short guys in banking than in the population as a whole.
