I find myself in an interesting situation.
In September I'll be starting as an Associate at a Tier 2 consulting firm and through some contacts I've come across a lead for a potential client that is in a position where they may benefit from a consulting firm. The lead is a personal connection so at the very least would have a sit down with me or the higher-ups at the firm where I'll be starting
My question is: should I contact one of the more senior people in the office where I'll be starting (I've met and spoken with this senior person numerous times so they know me) to inform them about this or should I wait until I start?
Any advice is appreciated
How credible and valuable is your lead? If you are certain that the lead is credible, I'd get them in touch with a Principal/ Manager first or maybe a junior partner. Don't overthink it, just set up a casual informational meeting.
