Should I cold email using my work email or personal email
Hi guys, I landed an internship role at a globally recognized finance company (BB, Big 4, MBB), however it its kinda middle office and it would take a few years to lateral to IBD, HF, PE (which is very common apparently for this specific role). I have seen an entry level position at another firm that could take me and I want to cold email the MD asking for coffee etc as I'll be in london soon filming a documentary.
Should I use my work email to look more legit? I am willing to risk any repercussions. I think having my company's tag after my name would be a very good look especially for a junior role also this particular MD used to work for this same company.
Or do you guys think this is so uncommon that it would look weird or like I do not have the right social etiquette.
Typically, if you're emailing to network, using the company email is fine. If you're emailing explicitly to find a job, you should use your own. It's a fine line, because networking is also the best way to get a job, so use your best judgment.
Not sure what the "filming a documentary" thing is about, but I'm not sure that'll make people more likely to talk to you...
