Should I Email Back?
I recently had a first round phone interview with a boutique consulting firm. The interview went well and as it was ending, I asked the classic question, "What are my next steps in the interview process?" The interviewer stated that there would be a lunch interview and then asked for my availability. I tried to schedule it over the phone, but she said it was based on the availability of other consultants at the firm. More or less, it sounded like I was a lock for the 2nd round interview.
It has now been 10 days since the interview and I am thinking maybe I misinterpreted things. The Interviewer said that the interview would be either before Christmas, or Mid-January. Considering the date, it will probably be the latter, but I'm lost as to why I haven't heard back yet. Is it acceptable to send an email on the Monday after Christmas, to get a better idea of the situation. I've always heard that this is a bad idea, but I feel this situation is different, since I "think" I'm already a lock for Round 2. I'm just looking for some clarity here. Thanks.
this isn't in Stamford, CT is it?
It isn't. Is there something I should be aware of?
No had a consulting firm take me on a lunch interview. Most uncomfortable hour of my life. Anyways, do not send an email until after the New Year holiday. Next week they can just give you the excuse they were out of the office....
It's slow this time of year....people are out of the office...hard to make things happen. Be patient and wait until after the new year to reach out if you have yet to hear back by then. Good luck.
