Should I exclude GPA from my resume?

Before last year I had a 2.7 (parent died freshman year + lazy) . I took a year off due to financial reasons (worked the whole time to pay off school) and now I have a 3.1. I took the max # of classes and got a 4.13. I have been busting my ass although I was definitely a lazy POS when I had the 2.7.  I go to a target school and I am in a science major. I am going to do the same thing this semester and will end with around a 3.35. Should I bother including my GPA on my resume right now? Is there any way to explain on resume (probably dumb question :) )
