Should I Focus on Preparing for Investment Banking or Consulting
I will be a senior next year and applying to different firms for a job. I have all the time between now and the end of summer when applications go out to start preparing for the specific jobs. I was wondering if I were to spend all this time to prepare for the interviews of one type of job consulting or IB which would I have an easier time going for.
I have heard that consulting is difficult in the number of cases you have to complete, but investment banking also has significant difficulty in the quantitative aspects of the interview.
In the time being you should focus on securing an internship for this summer if you haven't already, because if you haven't done that, banking and consulting will be an uphill battle for FT.
