yeah. People on this forum will give you shit for it since most people well informed enough to read WSO came from Long Island, or rich towns in Mass, CT. But being a first gen college student is a big deal and if i saw it on a resume and had to compare that person to someone with equal stats, I would lean first gen pretty much every time.
Thanks !! I was hesitant because I don't want to use that as a "selling point" since I generally don't like talking about my "poor" background.
I wouldn't categorize it as an "achievement," but definitely find a way to slip it into your resume somehow.
