I took the GMAT today, 680, but it was 41 V, 41Q, the Verbal is great but the quant sucked, should I go ahead and retake it?

Yes. The quant side is beatable, so why not beat it?

I've got a fucking mechanical engineering degree and managed a 42 on the quant side -- ugh. The split completely ruined my 740 overall score.

Anyone ever try GMATPill? I've got the Manhattan books but was thinking about trying something different.

Sounds like you had one mother of a bad day. That or you're too uber for GMAT math, which I suppose could theoretically happen. Get back on the horse that threw you and correct your shit before you riggedy-wreck your shit.

He's applying for an MMS degree, not an MBA. It's not as competiive. A friend of mine (Asian male) got into Duke with a 650 GMAT. If your gpa is close to their average, I think you're covered on those two aspects of the application.

Hispanic and doing a masters in management or finance, target schools are Wake Forest (Corporate Fellowship), Duke MMS, UVA Masters in Commerce, Villanova, Vanderbilt, IE, ESADE, UT-Austin and perhaps Tulane or Florida.
M- you are NOT Hispanic lol stop abusing the URM system.

hahahaha this is funny.

The answer to your question is 1) network 2) get involved 3) beef up your resume 4) repeat -happypantsmcgee WSO is not your personal search function.

Your Q/V split is awkward even though your overall score is good...I'd retake for a better split. You are definitely competitive with a 680, but if you do get rejected I wouldn't GMAT doubts to be the deciding issue. Just re-take and fix your split.
