Should I Start FT Recruiting?
Currently interning at a BB IB in a niche coverage group and I go to a nontarget. Based on past offer rates and my own performance I'd say I have a 60% - 70% chance of an offer. If I get a full-time offer I would 100% take it. With that being said, should I start the FT recruiting process?
I'm worried that if I don't get an offer I'll be behind in FT recruiting, but I don't want my current group to find out I'm looking elsewhere. Additionally, my school basically only has a presence with my current firm, so there aren't many options in terms of general/traditional networking. Any advice is appreciated.
Depends on your risk tolerance
Could you elaborate on that comment? In particular, how risky is it to start FT recruiting now?
You’re way better off using your time to crush the internship. Just work your ass off, network, etc.
FT recruiting will distract you and make you a worse intern, even if the risk of them finding out is probably low.
