Should I switch to trading from M&A?
I'm currently an M&A intern at a small boutique in Europe, but I have recently applied for a trading position at a prop trading firm in the NL. As of now, I have passed two interview rounds, but I have some second thoughts about whether I would be a good enough trader. My questions are:
- How well do they train you to trade at prop firms? Do they just give juniors x dollars and you're basically on your own, or do they go in-depth?
- How high are employee turnover rates in trading?
- What exit opportunities do traders have? How likely is it for a trader to switch to asset management down the line?
