I have signed an offer letter for my next position with a new firm. There was no signing bonus or relocation package offered in the letter. At the time it was no big deal because the pay was above average and it's a job I was really gunning for. This is my first time relocating for a job. I was pretty naive to the cost of moving and now I am thinking about going back to HR/hiring manager to see if they would be willing to offer any assistance.
Is this a terrible idea, or something they may be used to? Keep in mind I've already signed the offer letter. Thanks for any and all constructive advice.
