SIE Exam Questions

Hi everyone,
I apologize if these questions have been asked before, but I had a few questions regarding the SIE exam. First, some background information. I am graduating tomorrow with my Bachelor's in Finance, and scheduled to take the SIE exam on October 1st (giving me approximately 3 months and change to study):

  1. Is the test date too far in advance? I wanted to give myself plenty of time to study, take multiple practice exams, etc.

  2. Should I post anything about taking the exam on my resume/linkedin, or wait until I've passed?

Thank you,
Josh S

Hi Aloha85,

Congratulations on graduating! Let me answer your questions:

  1. Three months is plenty of time to study for the FINRA SIE. I wouldn't call it too much time, but most students only need 1-2 months, so you could move it up to September pretty easily or you could just take it slow.

  2. I wouldn't post anything until you've passed. Even then, the FINRA SIE isn't a major accomplishment, so don't overplay it. It's kind of like getting your driver's license :)

Lastly, if you're looking for FINRA SIE prep, my company Achievable makes a good SIE course - it's free to try if you want to check it out.

Best of luck! Tyler
