Sigh...another 'thank you'
I know there have been a few of these lately, but I just wanted to thank everyone on this board. I interviewed for an SA position with RBC DCM in Toronto today and got a verbal offer right on the phone (after only 12 minutes!).
If it weren't for this board, I never would have known to just try to network my ass off, nor would I have sounded as knowledgeable as I do (at least, compared to other sophomores)about banking. I sent out my resume to hundreds of people, and luckily, got a job at the place I wanted. So again, thanks to everyone.
That's great, really is, but what in the hell could you have done in 12 minutes to get an offer with a top firm (assuming you are in Canada)?
I don't think anyone could think of something profound enough to impress someone that much in 12 minutes.
I think the OP meant, he got a verbal offer over the phone 12 mins after his interview was over.
I've on forums for years but I have no idea what OP stands for. What does it stand for?
On another note, I also have WSO to partially thank for my spot this summer. It wasn't the biggest factor but it definitely was a great resource. Now it's just fun to sift through!

No, it was after 12 minutes of talking (no more than 15)...seriously. He asked me some basic fit questions for about eight minutes, and then said: "Well, do you have any questions for me?"
I thought "Oh shit, the interview is over already...that can't be good."
He mentioned he was from the same city I was, so we started talking about hockey. After a few minutes, he offered me the job.
Maybe they're desperate? But DCM is a real front-office job...so all I know is just that I'm really happy and grateful to everyone on this site.
