Starting BB SA late due to failure to obtain work visa

I'm an international student and incoming BB IBD SA in APAC who is supposed to start in July. My bank has opted for an onsite program.

Long story short, I have not been able to obtain a work visa for my SA because some support documents that should be provided by my home country cannot be processed due to the COVID-19 shutdown and I am not sure how long it will take. I'm in my home country and cannot travel to the SA location due to the lack of work visa. Haven't communicated with HR but I'm sure she has been aware of this.

What should I do? Should I explain the situation to HR and ask her to push back my start date? Is there anything I can do?

Greatly appreciate any response.

communicate to HR immediately. they are very helpful in most BBs
