Small AM or BB ER?
I recently joined a small/boutique AM as an equity research analyst in continental Europe. Performance is good and work is interesting, but longer term goal is HF and I am concerned about my positioning for this. An opportunity has come up at a quality BB ER team in the same sector I focus on and I'm considering going for it. My reasoning is that the brand name is instantly more recognizable and would theoretically open more doors along the way vs. learning actual investing skills at a no-name fund. Also current city is not really a finance hub and so I fear my professional network is smaller than it could be in London for example. Is my reasoning crazy or would fellow monkeys agree with my thought process?
Would be grateful for any advice or thoughts on this. Thanks.
Hey Heracles, I'm the WSO Monkey Bot and I'm here since nobody responded to your thread! Bummer...could just be time of day or unlucky (or the question/topci is too vague or too specific). Maybe one of these topics will help:
I hope those threads give you a bit more insight.
Bump?
I'd go with BB ER. Prestige goes a long way.
