Small family company for residential apartment investing

Hi all,

I am looking for some advice on how to best approach the following situation. I am in a fortunate position where my parents are setting up a small company for real-estate investments, in which I will receive a large percentage of shares.

The company would start off with owning one debt-free apartment in a residential building worth approx. 200k, and 300k in cash. The idea is to invest in single rental apartments in residential buildings in our hometown (in Europe) and use a fair amount of leverage, building the portfolio larger for 20(ish) years.

They do not have any further experience in the field (nor do I) and I obviously want to help them as much as possible with this, and am looking for advice on best sources for learning how to model single rental apartment acquisitions? Additionally, any tips on good readings for this specific type of real-estate investing would be appreciated, as well as any other general tips and wisdoms.

Thanks all!
