SMBC Nikko Capital Markets ECM vs DCM (Associate)
Does anyone have any insight into the above roles please, and SMBC Nikko CM as a firm? I am in the process of applying for both of these roles, but I'm leaning more towards ECM. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks
Not too sure about their ECM practice, but their DCM team has been on a lot of deals as Active Bookrunner. Definitely fast growing and a solid place to consider joining
Thank you very much
I work here. DCM is one of the strongest groups at the bank. I'm not entirely sure what the ECM guys do all day. DCM is a no brainer.
Thanks, and in terms of DCM, what are your weekly hours like?
Things have been pretty busy for the past year (like every bank). But rarely more than 70 hours/week. Culture isn't quite as intense as American IB although this is group dependent.
Great, thanks very much
Absolutely DCM
