So many "choices"... RE, IB, or Sales?
Fellow monkeys,
I am in need of help. My junior year is fast approaching and I want to target my networking effectively so that I can be in a good position for recruiting. I am currently struggling to know what I want to do with my career because the more I read the less I am sure about anything.
I have a 3.8 GPA from an Ivy. Hospitality Management major (Which probably gives it away) with a minor in Real Estate and a concentration in Investment Banking/Security Analysis. I am involved on and off campus. My summer internship was in equity research focusing on the retail industry at a very small company under the guidance of highly regarded analyst. Spring semester I helped a graduate student create a CF Waterfall model for a hotel that he is starting, which was used to acquire $10 million dollars in funding. I personally believe that I am very strong in Excel; however, I haven't done all too much modeling. I am also an extremely social person that is very personable. I believe that I have a strong resume overall that will give me flexibility in my junior year internship.
I am trying to figure out which would be the best career path for me. I figure that people on this forum can ask me questions that could help me with my dilemma.
I am struggling to decide which career path I should pursue. I am interested in Real Estate, Sales, and IB. I know that they obviously have their differences; however, I struggle to see the real differences. It would be great to understand the pros and cons of each sector and which type of people thrive in each.
I really appreciate your advice. Thank you.
