Some career advice needed

Im more of a L/S equities and credit investing person.

Was wondering whats your view on the future as a structured credit guy in a larger institution (private equity / hedge fund firm). The person would cover the usual research, analysis and financial modelling. Appreciate views from both the Western and Asian world context.

To elaborate further, the business is in primary lending with structured terms to protect the downside and probably mezz type of structure to boost upside. I think there will be minimal opportunity to "invest" in secondaries like high yield or distressed etc.

Would this skill sets and experience be valuable in any way? To me, this sounds pretty much like leveraged finance, except its not in a IB but rather an investment firm.
