Sophomore internship: Operations -- Which one?
I'm a sophomore applying to an ops summer internship for one of the big5 in Canada. The breakdown for their operations unit is of follows:
Office of the COO: Diversity, Business Continuity Management, Operational Risk and Training.
Accounting: accounting for all business products. account reconciliation, financial, management, regulatory and tax reporting.
Payments & Settlements: cash management functions. management of the Bank's bank account.
Middle Office: business transparency, increased reliability & confidence in systems and accurate & timely reporting of P&L calculations.
Finance: Supports the development and achievement of business unit financial objectives and provides expertise and guidance to management
Theres a bit more but im guessing it's even more far off so im not listing them (IT, customer service, data management..). I'm wondering which of the above would be of most value in terms of networking, learning, and leveraging experience. Also, if I had a choice between this, big4 audit, and F500 (may or may not be finance-related), which would be the most favourable?
