Sophomore who needs guidance
Hey, everbody. I'm looking for some guidance. I've applied to at least 150 finance type internships for Summer 2020 across varying divisions (F500, AM, IB, Quant, Insurance) and have had basically no luck. I got 2 automatic phone screens and a couple hirevues but nothing materialized. Whenever I attend career fairs the recruiters usually seem impressed/interested but don't have business cards so I'm never able to follow up with those companies and nothing materializes there. My resume as itself I would say is decent. I've used the WSO formatting so I have that down. I know that it could be better and I've had some health issues that have limited me (don't want to go into more details here) that I can't really explain in a resume but I wouldn't say my resume is bad either. The thing is I usually don't even get rejection letters from firms. It's come to a point where if I get a rejection letter I feel special like the firm actually somewhat cares about me. But needless to say I am getting disappointed and don't know where to turn. I've applied from small shops all the way up. Nobody in my family works in finance so I am unable to leverage any family connections. Do you all know of any firms that encourage non-diversity sophomores to apply? I might have missed some and want to know.
