Sophomore/Junior Year GPA for IB

Hi everyone - I am a rising sophomore at UMich and I was hoping people could share some information about GPA requirements for firms. Currently, I have a 3.74 but I have heard a couple of things.

  1. I heard that the BB (JPM, GS, MS) care less about your GPA (3.6 and above) I was wondering how accurate this really is.
  2. I heard Evercore will not accept people who have below a 3.9 for the first round. How true is this and how likely are they to overlook a 3.7.
  3. How true is the narrative about having a 3.5 is all you need as the resume cut off. I was not sure if this was ever the case but if it is, please let me know.
  4. Does GPA become much more important when you are recruiting for the buy-side? is 3.7 enough or what are they looking for?

Thanks in advance!

Best,
Daniel
