Southeast Offices

Trying to get a rough rankings of undergraduate universities for Southeast (not Florida, more like Charlotte, D.C., ect.) and Mid-Atlantic Offices for BB. Banks like Wachovia and Bank of America and other MM and regional banks in these areas.

Here is a list of some schools I thought of (add or take any off or rank if you can, just trying to get a rough idea):

UVA McIntire
UNC Kenan-Flagler
Emory Gouizeta
Vanderbilt
Duke

I am sure I missed some, any help?

You could add Georgia Tech and UGA to that list.

UGA and GTECH to a much lesser extent The best are

Gtown Duke UVA UNC Emory Vandy

more or less in that order

I agree, but a buddy of mine who attends UGA says that they've had a lot of recruiting this year from larger banks. 10 people were interviewed for GS Securities and GS IBD. Macquarie Bank, HLHZ and Robinson Humphrey are also recruiting from there.

Tech seems to also get a fair amount, mainly from their industrial engineering program.

But yeah, those listed already are definitely the targets.

Any reason why Emory is so low?

I thought it was a top 5 b-school?

Emory and Vandy are good schools but I've always been under the impression that they are semi-targets- but maybe they are full targets for Atlanta and Charlotte, Idk.

also, just b/c i listed them below the other schools doesn't mean they aren't good for IB, it just means that UVA, Duke and Gtown are better.

Emory gets some strong recruiting, just not as much as Duke, UVA. Your usual banks tend to show up at Emory, JPM, Wells Fargo, Robinson Humphrey, HLHZ as well as some smaller firms like McColl Partners.

Duke definitely places better on the street than Gtown. I would say it is hands down the best of the schools listed. Gtown, UVA, and UNC are all pretty similar after that. Can't speak to the others as well but these are the schools I have seen represented in my experience.
