Specific market focused vs many markets

Hey guys what are your thoughts on being a “jack of all trades” relative to markets vs a firm who solely does work only in one market?

I currently work for a firm who only invests in NYC however as much as I love NY I would like to see some RE outside specifically in the SE. Ideal would be working for a firm still here in NYC but does work in say Florida as well.

Hey NYYCRE, what a lonely thread. I'm here since nobody responded ...so maybe one of these discussions will help:

If we're lucky, maybe I can guilt some users to help you out: bekele Mike D teddythebear

I hope those threads give you a bit more insight.
