Definitely face up. Best way to make sure they’re getting cleaned!
I literally just started washing my dishes, and I agree with the above poster. Face up so they get cleaned
Face up but I make sure to grab the spoons/forks further down so I'm not touching the eating portion
This is the most unlikely topic on this forum. But, if the first answers are correct, I’ve been doing it wrong with facing down.
Face down ensures contact that prevents full cleanliness. It’s nasty and I hate to see it when I’m at someone’s place.
Face down is objectively correct; face up is immoral. Face down ensures that your gross, disgusting, vile hands don't touch the eating portion when removing from dishwasher. If you do it any other way you're a communist.
Just grab the stem below the tines…unless you got fingers like Elmo
Just wash your hands...
You communist...
All utensils except knives face up to maximize spray contact. Knives give a good wipe with a sponge before placing face down to remove any stuck-on particulate matter. This is the correct method.
My dishwasher utensil holder has a cover that doesn’t allow you to put them face down. Just a slit for the handles to go into… so that should tell you something
What 1920s dishwasher you guys got that you think face down your utensils would not get fully clean.
Even better do you put your pots/casserole dishes face up too? If not should tell you how the machine cleans.
A quality thread from Isaiah, do my eyes deceive me?!
Anyways, face-up masterrace reporting in.
spoons and forks up
knives down
Sharp knives down all else up
I wash my dishes all by hand so I can actually make sure they're clean, and not get destroyed over time in the dishwasher, plus no ugly water marks on any of my glasses. Was my ex pissed that she was delegated to drying and putting away the dishes with our empty dishwasher always going unused? Maybe, but that's how I roll.
That's what I generally do too. Tenants always find a way to fuck up dishwashers. Just did a walkthrough the other day and have to replace one now that was good not too long ago. Thankfully some of them are pretty affordable, but shitty tenants can be annoying. I guess it's all about that IRR and FCF in the end.
Cascade Platinum doesn’t leave water marks on glasses.

The fact that Isaiah is the one to break the chain of sex related threads that have swept the off-topic forum recently is poetic
Up.

Get a dishwasher that allows you to put them in sideways on their own rack so you don't have to even consider such a barbaric question of cleanliness ever again.
Knives down and everything else sideways in a separate rack for utensils.
