S&T Headcounts
Is it just my observation or industry in general have less headcount nowadays?
After working at the same company for a few years, I found my company no longer have motivation to pay me what I deserved. However, it looks like for my product - fixed income exotic rates, everywhere is so crowded. No new headcount unless some one left.
Do you also find it’s hard to change job?
yeah industry is shrinking as rates have to gone to zero, central banks crush vol, and everyone is about cost saving/technology.
Even for quants, most of us are headed to tech 3-5 years in
you really gotta like markets to do this job and be comfortable of the career risk involved
Agree.
Feel the same way. Industry is not doing so well.
Have been networking for a few years but always told we don’t have new vacancy.
Normal
We received 1000+ resumes for a junior fixed income trader position. So you can only imagine....
Headcounts will be less, period.
Wall street are cutting instead of hiring now!
The winter is coming!
They will increase more low pay quant and front office developer jobs and cut high pay trader jobs. Period
True. We are hiring more quants than traders now...
