Stall job offer for 3 weeks?
So I received an (unpaid) internship offer at the end of last week from "company A". Although I would be very excited to work for this firm, and it is well known, the unpaid position is not ideal to my situation AND it would be splitting time doing a variety of finance/economics tasks because this firm is not strictly a HF.
I have an in-person interview coming up which I scheduled last week before hearing back from company A. Unfortunately, this interview is not for 3 more weeks. I haven't gotten confirmation yet, but I am inclined to think this will be a paid internship and even if it is not, I think I would prefer it because it is only a HF.
How can I stall company A politely? I have already asked them for some time to consider the offer and they said no problem. However, I imagine they want a response within a week. Is 3 weeks too long to ask for?
Any advice?
