Starting a new CD job soon - anything you wish you knew before starting? General tips/tricks?

Long-time poster here. I've definitely seen threads like this before for banking/PE but don't think I've come across one for corp dev.

My background is asset management ---> boutique banking and I'll be starting a new corporate development (manager-level) role soon at a $10bn revenue, b2b industrial distribution company. Really not sure what to expect so just wanted to see if anyone here has general tips, best practices, etc. for starting at a gig like this. Appreciate any/all insight. Thanks folks.
