Starting an internship position in Alternative Credit (CMBS, ABS, CLOs) at a major Credit Fund
Hi,
I'll be starting a junior summer internship position at a Credit Fund in its Alternative Credit team. I'm really excited and I want to do my best in the position to make sure I secure a return offer and build my career and reputation. Does anyone have any primers or advice for how I can do my best in portfolio management/structured finance? I would be working with ABS, CMBS, ABS, and other parts of alternative credit.
Guggenheim Investments has good educational material on their site including videos that can teach you industry terminology.
Can I ask how you found an internship for these, assuming it is one of the major players? I have been really interested in the CLO space
...
Curious what other players in the space hire out of undergrad
bump
How was the experience? Was it very quantitative mathematically/statistically? I'm looking to break in but I've seen a few postings ask for familiarity with R, Python, Intex and I lack them all lol (business undergrad)
