Can you clarify what you mean by execution? Would that mean like you are at a private markets investing firm and you would mainly do the “deal-work” diligence like building a model, data room stuff, quarterbacking advisors, etc?
Systematic investment firm. Execution of trades
Okay thanks for letting me know. Given that, I’m not sure if I have much if any helpful information for you about that at this time but hopefully / maybe soon :) good luck :)
Yes. Don't do that unless that's something you want to do long term, or unless you are out of options for things you want to do.
Even if it’s an extremely reputable firm? What would exit opps be like?
The most straightforward exit opps would be to execution analyst roles at other similar firms. Those are the skills you will have based on your current role, so those are the skills headhunters and hiring managers will safely assume you can handle in a new role. Any other type of role would involve you learning to do something you have not done before, which can happen of course but is more of a leap of faith. Prestige definitely matters, but definitely not unless you can reasonably do the work.
