Steve Jobs movie
I live on another planet, well another continent, so I just heard about this movie, interesting pick as Kutcher as Jobs, what do you guys think? How do you think the movie will be? Any chance it's as good as the Social Netowork?
I'm a big fan of the guy (jobs, not kutcher) so pretty excited to see it
Here is Kutcher's reply on quora as to how he prepared for the role:
Ashton Kutcher, maker of stuff

I started by consuming content about Steve Jobs. The script was a fantastic resource but after reading it I was left with as many questions as answers as to why he was the way he was and why he made some of the decisions he made. I started by watching documentaries and interviews Silicon Valley Historical Association about him and collecting youtube content Inspired By Jobs: Technology and Soundcloud files on jobs.
This was to try to understand some of the broad themes of his persona. What I was looking for was patterns on consistent behavior and ideals. I heard him repeat his story about a computer being a tool for the mind and that we should all be bold enough to create the world we live in. I also picked up on his value for diverse education through experience. I then started to dissect the nuances of his behavior, the walk, the fact that he has an almost imperceptible lisp, his accent that was a combination of northern California and Wisconsin, the way he paused before answer, and nodded in understanding, the way he bowed in namaste when receiving praise, and stared with contempt when in conflict. I noticed how he used his hands to talk and how he counted with his fingers (pinky finger first), how he used the word "aaaaand" and "noooow" to think about what he was going to say next. But I quickly found that, while learning "how a person is" ultimately is the key, you have to learn "why a person is".
Once armed with this external impression I wanted to get a better feel of why he saw the world the way he did. I wanted to know why he liked what he liked and pursued what he pursued. So I started to consume what he consumed.
Books he read: Autobiography of a Yogi : Paramahansa Yogananda,Mucusless Diet Healing System: Arnold Ehret, Be Here Now: Ram Dass.
Researching the artists he admired: Bauhaus, Folon, Ansel Adams
Eating the food he ate: Grapes, Carrot Juice, Popcorn
Studying the Entrepreneurs he admired: Edison, Edwin LandThen I met with the people that he knew and worked with to unravel some of the subtle quirks and conflicted decision making that I couldn't rationalize. Alan Kay, Avi Tevanian, Jeffery Katzenberg, Mike Hawley, and many others were phenomenal resources.
I then worked with my acting coach Greta Seacat to relate his emotionality and behavior to my own. She helped me make it personal and authentic.
But in the end one of the greatest tells of the man were his creations. They were elegant, intelligent, thoughtful, precise, artistic, bold, visionary, complicated, efficient, fun, entertaining, powerful, imperfect, and beautiful on the inside and out.... Just like Steve.

Personally, I dislike Apple very much, and dislike Kutcher even more (the only thing he did well was playing an idiot on That 70's Show), so I will not be seeing this movie.
well you're a sour apple today. why do you dislike the company so much?
Looks like a pile of shit, just like everything Kutcher is in.
I honestly thought this movie could have had a ton of potential. The story of Steve Jobs is pretty complex and inspiring, its too bad hollywood just wanted to take advantage of the Apple hype and produce a shitty studio film
I find Windows computers to be just as good as Macs at half the price, and I find Android-operated tablets and phones to be was better for half the price. So much more freedom on my Android-powered tablet than an iPad. I feel like people buy it strictly because they're "pretty." Idk, just bothers me as a rational consumer.
looks like shit. Ashton Kutcher must be asking himself "Dude where's my car-eer?"
I believe the movie got crushed at Sundance and by other critics. Kutcher should stick to playing the idiot goofball
Unfortunately not a fan of Kutcher at all, I was pretty excited to see a movie about Steve Jobs too.
definitely agree on that. let's get edward norton for the remake
i've been pc my whole life but thinking about getting the top of the line macbok pro and running windows 7 from it (mainly for the performance, security, etc etc) - every pc notebook i've had has had problems after ~6months whether shit battery life , shit performance, whatever. only good pc notebook i had was an asus
I toyed with the idea. Macs of the caliber I want are not quite in the budget for me right now as a student. The only real problems I have run into with my PCs are battery life (after a year, I get about a half hour on a full charge) and it running loudly, which can be helped a little with an air gun.
I'd consider a Mac when I begin actually making a salary (even though its just measly big 4 money ;) ), but I'd absolutely have to run windows. I can't deal with the Mac OS's.
Looking forward to when this cult of personality runs its course.
The biography was terrific. I'm afraid that this movie will suck though.
Also, Jobs contemporaries have said that the script isn't good or accurate.
Finally, I heard there's another Jobs movie coming out next year too that is actually based on the biography.
Of all the actors, why on earth did they pick this guy? Why not get Jonathan Pryce or somebody...I don't know, talented?
I've been running Windows on Mac products since 2007 and have never had any issues. Just make sure you get a good anti-virus software (I use Windows Security Essentials & Malewarebytes. My comp is like a fortress and they're free).
Really disappointing to read these posts. I had high hopes.
