Strategy Consulting Training Program for Non-Consultants
For those of us who haven't worked in consulting before, are there training programs (for individuals, not corporates) one can enroll in to learn and practice working on strategy problems? Any recommendations would be appreciated.
Bump
Based on your ask, I assume you're looking to simulate a consulting experience with the specific asks and prompts that go into it. The closest thing I found for this is the firm-specific "The Forage" virtual experiences. They provide prompts with downloadable data to prepare questions and deliverables that are simulated to a hypothetical engagement.
It's free to register and there are walk-throughs provided after you attempt each question.
Here is one I (bombed) took on: theforage.com/virtual-internships/ prototype/ ntTvo6ru6Tq3A2JPq/ BCG-StrategyConsulting
I've seen Accenture, KPMG, BCG and a few other firms all have their own "The Forage" experience based on their individual practices. I think BCG has a few based on some data analytics roles as well.
For high-level strategic problem solving, just work on case interviews. It's not the full consulting experience but it's good for learning to structure ambiguous problems.
Yeah I'm aware of those, thanks. But looking for something more like the workshops some of those investment banking training companies (Training the Street, Wall Street Prep), etc do but for consulting.
