Strategy& Deals Team to Private Equity

I'm a senior from a target school currently applying to Strategy&'s Deals Strategy team in NYC, which does M&A advisory work for PE firms (from what I understand, they do commercial due diligence and growth strategy projects). I am curious to know if the firm and group in particular have enough name recognition to help me pivot into PE after a few years on the job. I know Bain's PE group places well, doing the exact same work, but is that all based on the name of the company?

Sorry for not being able to give you an answer. But I'd like to ask you something. Will you, in this position in S& do financial models and valuations work?

And in case of a negative answer, do you think it'll be a bad side on finding a PE exit? i'm kind of in the same dilemma as you and would appreciate to have your impression on this.

good luck

Its not a question of brand, its a question of talent. The answer is you've got a tough but not impossible challenge to move to PE if you absolutely kill it at Strategy&
