Student in college here looking for wisdom, help, and advice.

Hi there,

I'm new to this site; however, I've heard a great deal of praise about it. I'll cut to the chase - I'm a student at a Top 10 college in the United States with a poor GPA (2.7-3.0 range), a prestigious (Sounds pretentious, but alas) position on my university's student government, and am interested in finance. I appreciate the honesty I've seen thus far on threads, and I need your advice. What can I do now - and this is a season where many banks and firms are visiting campus - to break into IB, MC, or something finance related for an internship this summer and hopefully after graduation? Any advice is welcome - even if it is doom and gloom, so long as it is serious.
