Stupid question to ask Recruiter?
I got an offer from a BB, and my roomie is also thinking of applying there NOW. the website doesnt mention the deadline or anything so I sent the recruiter the following email:
One of my roommates at university is extremely interested in the Investment Banking Summer Analyst position at xxxx, and has been seeking my advice. he was about to submit her application, but is unsure whether it's too late in the recruiting process now. I was also confused on what to advise her. Do you think I should ask him to still apply, since my understanding is that xxx is done holding the assessment center stages with the last one being on xxx. Please let me know what you think. Regards
Is there anything wrong with this email? I dont want to piss these HR people off but then i wanted to help my friend too lol
Why doesn't your friend ask them? They can send a general e-mail questioning this to HR. I wouldn't have sent it, but thats just me. I think people need more personal responsbility and to do things on their own. I don't think the e-mail would cause problems though, but I don't work in HR there.
Why didn't you just call HR up and ask them? If time is of the essence, then you (and your friend) run the risk of your email being overlooked.
"...seeking my advice. he was about to submit her application, but is unsure whether it's too late in the recruiting..."
Probably should have proof read the email before you sent it...
I second Tom's advice. You switched your friend's gender at least twice throughout the email. My advice would be to give your friend HR's email or phone number and let him/her do the talking so that they don't appear to be lazy and you don't get yourself dinged/laughed at for poorly typed emails.
I think you're more confused about the gender of your friend....
