Subsequent correspondence with initial interviewer?
Hello All,
I have recently been applying and interviewing for positions in energy trading (physicals). I've spent the last 12 years on the sell side and am attempting to make the switch back to the buy side. Through some serious networking I was able to hustle my way in the back door to get an interview at a major O&G firm. The first interview was a pretty straightforward phone interview. Very basic, pretty much just checking for competency.
I thought it all went well and my contact at the firm said that he also heard it went well ... So I am hopeful of getting an in-person interview soon. This is a large firm, so the process moves slower.
My initial phone interview was with an industry professional - a senior level for the position I'm applying. She was very nice, and she gave me her email and said I could "feel free to write her if I had any further questions regarding the position"
I sent her a follow up thank you email, and she responded positively... Also reiterating that I could ask her any questions I may have.
My question for you all .... should I follow up with questions? With everything having gone well, and being told that it went well .... Is less more in this situation? or should I take her openness as an opportunity to show more interest?
Thank you all in advance.
