Summer Advice Needed

Hey guys,

Need some advice for this coming summer. Have an IBD offer at an EB London office and also an offer for the oppurtunity to spend 10 weeks on a development project in Africa. Long term career plans are to go into international development/related fields but want to work in IBD initially for the experience/soft skills/etc...

How hard is it to get a full time IBD offer at a top BB/EB without a summer internship in the industry? Could I spin the developlement project to the extent that it will help land a graduate position?

I'd really appreciate any advice

Even with prior IBD internship it's very competitive to land a full time gig at an EB. Every now and then there are people who do internships in other areas in Finance and land a ft gig in IBD but haven't seen anyone landing ft at an EB after a unrelated project...

The current environment might not be the best one to test that either
