Summer Intern - making the most of it

I've heard that summer interns (and analysts) often have some downtime during the day, eg when waiting for an Associate to return some work to them with things to fix up. What's the best way to use this downtime? Should I be reaching out to other people on the team to see if there's anything I can help with, or should I spend that time trying to learn (looking at old models/comps, reading news etc). Or something else? Thanks!
