Summer school at top tier uni in UK

I am sophomore at a public university in Germany and planning to do a Masters in the UK. Do you think it would increase my chances to get a place for a Masters course at a top tier uni (Oxbridge, Imperial, LSE, UCL, KCL Warwick ...) if I attend a summer school at a well known institution, like LSE or UCL? Or would it be better to do whole term at a lesser known uni? In general, I am highly skeptical about those summer schools but if it adds some value in this case I would go for it. Maybe someone has been in a similar situation and can share any insights?

I am a working student in a bank (besides my studies I work 2 days per week - not sure if this is a common thing outside Germany). So an internship would not make any sense to me. That's why I thought a summer school could be something that sets me apart from others.

If this is LSE, which it probably is, it's a bit of a scam to be honest. If you want UK university experience, see if you can find UROP-type schemes (Imperial offer loads for STEM and they're open to some non-Imperial students, the others will have limited econ/finance focused research internships, especially if you do some cold-emailing, but you might not get paid). An LSE Economics Department Research Assistant position would look pretty good, in my opinion, even unpaid. Otherwise, take the German internship.
