Long story short, consulting firms don't offer summer (analyst) internships in my country and I was preparing to apply for internships that starts from end of August/beginning September - I already have several contacts.
However, I was admitted to the CEMS exchange at the London School of Economics, which means that I'll be there from Sep to Dec.
At this point, why waste a summer and not apply for a summer internship in London? Not MBB (I assume they have already finished their recruiting process), but an experience is better than no experience, right? Besides, my second semester next year is almost empty, so I'll have the slot for another internship.
Are you aware of any consulting company in particular who is still recruiting? Any other suggestions/insults/lols? Thanks!
All the good firms have finished recruiting interns. If you want a position, you need to focus on boutiques or contacts.

Also, I was just contacted by a BB for an internship interview in my country (I was invited for a company visit there a couple of weeks ago, so they knew me and had my cv). Eventually, what would be better: a boutique consulting company in London, or BB IBD here?
Bump this, because I was just invited to the final round with the MD I would be eventually working for. It's a place in the fixed income sales team.

Better than no experience at all. I know plenty of people who interned in markets before receiving graduate offers in consulting, including myself.
Sales in particular can be invaluable for honing interpersonal and presentation skills, which are often neglected by consulting applicants. Credit is a good product too - the knowledge you'll pick up on a wide range of companies is transferable.

I too was thinking about interpresonal skills, especially if they allow me to listen to the MD's calls to the clients. Also, I would be put to work on the pitches, which I gather are closer to the consulting presentations than the IBD 90+ page analysis.
I wasn't aware of the benefits of credit, though. Although it makes sense: I guess that you get to know the company that released the securities, or the company you are selling the securities to.
